XERO-DHAGXLEY TOWN Xero-Dhagxley town is located in Mudug region about 200 km, south of Galkacyo town and 43 km north-east of the port town of Hobyo. It is estimated that the urban population is between 73,000-75,000 people. It has primary and secondary schools.
Xero-Dhagaxley has arable land that is good for cultivating crops, on which a large number of population depend for food and economically. It is reported that 85% of the Xero-Dhagaxley land is good for crop cultivation, although its people are much behind, technically and educationally. It has watercourse for livestock and agricultural production which rely on and benefit by the local consumers and business people. Groundwater is ideal for animal husbandry such as camels, goats, horses and cows. Xero-Dhagaxley is rich in livestock, wildlife such as Carnivores, Antelopes, Birds, Reptiles, and plants, which if protected by revenue returned by tourists and researchers can be a big benefit for the local people and state. Its people are friendly and active people, who are also good in production. They are humble and calm if not wrongly provoked. They are very good in respecting and reception. This town has produced some influential people in the fields of business, management and leadership such as Ali-hashi Awale (a major businessman), Said Mohamoud Jumale, the former Minister of Culture and Higher Education of Somalia. ,Sa’eed Ali Osoble, and head of the Department of foreign currency in the Central Bank of Somalia, Dr. Yasiin Sh. Ahmed Osoble and many others.
