Naasiriya population is about 9,000-12,000 whereby 70% of the people depend on livestock that they rare on grasslands of the area like; baraka, kuka and xaawa nuunow while the rest of 30% has a small business centers. It has seasonal farms where people cultivate only during the rainy season despite the challenges they face during the drought season. They have man-made dum near the main town called care dum which was named the NGO that has assisted them to dig. It has one main mosque of naasiriya that was built by the society.
